Map of Boston in 1775  Boston in 1775

The three hills on the peninsula were cut down and used for landfill material (Beacon, Copp's, and Fort Hills).  Mill Pond was filled in and became the West End.  Most of Long Wharf is gone and is where Christopher Columbus Park and the New England Aquarium are.  The entire lower right area was filled and is part of South Boston.  And the entire left area was filled and became the Back Bay.
